Osun student electrocuted with plugged phone

A 100-level student of University of Ilesa, Osun State, Gbolahan Ojolo, has reportedly died of electrocution triggered by lightning strike in his hall of residence in Ilesa, the Nation reports. Ojolo, a student in the Department of Business Administration, was said to be charging his phone and playing a game on it at the same time when thunder struck. Confirming the incident in a statement on Saturday, the Registrar of the University, Funso Ojo, said the incident happened on Friday. Ojo’s statement partly read, “The Management of the University of Ilesa, Osun State, deeply regrets to announce the tragic and untimely death of one of its students, Gbolahan Ojolo, a 100 Level student of the Department of Business Administration. “The unfortunate incident occurred in the evening of Friday, April 18, 2025. Sunday Igboho's Daughter Graduates From Canadian Varsity

 


Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has celebrated his daughter, Bisola, who recently graduated from the University of Guelph, Canada.

Celebrating Bisola on social media, the proud father posted a video of her collecting her certificate and celebrating with her colleagues on his social media page during the week.

He wrote, “My child in whom I’m well pleased. Beautiful people, be joyous with me as my daughter graduated from the University of Guelph with distinction in Bachelor of Arts, Criminal Justice and Public Policy/Sociology, and two certificates in Business and Public Policy. Isn’t that awesome? I am elated right now. I am having a proud father moment. May God guide your path. May kings come to your rising. God bless you.”
