UI Matriculates 4,649 Students

  …VC urges freshers to uphold excellence and integrity The University of Ibadan (UI) has officially welcomed 4,649 newly admitted students into various academic programmes for the 2024/2025 academic session. The matriculation ceremony, held on Wednesday at the International Conference Centre, Ibadan, brought together university officials, parents, and well-wishers to celebrate the students’ formal entry into the institution. Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode Adebowale, disclosed that 11,912 candidates participated in the university’s post-UTME screening after meeting the minimum 200 UTME score requirement.  Out of this number, 7,017 scored 50 per cent and above, with 4,411 gaining admission through UTME and 238 through the Direct Entry route. JAMB Reschedule UTME exam for 24,000 candidates



The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has rescheduled its 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, for 24,535 candidates.

According to JAMB, candidates are to print their supplementary Examination Notification Slips from Tuesday, 4th June, 2024, to ascertain their designated examination centres.

In a statement made available on Sunday, JAMB’s spokesman, Dr Fabian Benjamin, said the Board has also released additional 3,921 withheld results.

The statement reads in part: “The Board has painstakingly analysed the process and conduct of the 2024 UTME in some centres where there are strong proofs of substantial non-compliance with the Board’s standards.

”Consequently, 24,535 candidates have been rescheduled to retake the examination in their chosen Examination Towns on Saturday, June 22, 2024.

”Meanwhile, 3,921 outstanding 2024 UTME results that had been cleared have now been released.

”Therefore, concerned candidates are urged to check their results from Saturday, 1st June, 2024 by sending RESULT to 55019 or 66019 to ascertain their status as those cleared would have their results while those rescheduled would be told that they had been rescheduled.

”This release brings the total results released to 1,883,350. The rescheduled examination, which is taking place on Saturday, 22nd June, 2024, two weeks from now, is to give affected candidates adequate time to prepare for the exercise.
