Nollywood Veteran Actor, ‘Agbako’ is dead

  Veteran actor, Abdulsalam Sanyaolu, popularly known as Charles Olumo and Agbako, is dead. A  statement by the president of Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) , Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr Latin on Instagram on Thursday.   He wrote, “#tampanglobal announces the passing of Pa Charles Olumo Sanyaolu, fondly known as AGBAKO. Details of the burial arrangements will be shared at a later time. Good night father, 25/02/1923 to 31/10/2024.”   Nollywood actor, Jide Kosoko, also confirmed Agbako’s demise as he wrote: “Good night ooo, Baba Charles. a.k.a Agbako, 101 years, ba wasa ba. R I P.”   Agbako clocked 101st this year.

RUN VC Lauds RUNWA Over Community Tree Planting




The Vice-Chancellor of Redeemer's University, Prof. Shadrach Akindele has lauded Redeemer’s University Woman Association (RUNWA) for encouraging the habit of tree planting among the staff.

Prof. Akindele made the pronouncement recently during a Wealth Creation Workshop  held at SEAP Holdings building by the Redeemer’s University Women Association (RUNWA) in collaboration with Green Gold Foods and Beverages Limited founded by Mrs. Oluwatomi Olatoye.

Prof. Akindele said that the workshop which was to empower the Redeemer’s University women (RUNWA) and other participants was timely and in line with the vision of the institution to continuously impact the university community through commitment and excellence.  He appreciated the women for being a strong support to their husband.

Delivering her speech, the Chief Executive Officer of Green Gold Foods and Beverages Limited and Founder, Hope Alive Training Academy, Ibadan, Oyo State, and Urban Agriculture School, Mrs Oluwatomi Olatoye, highlighted the importance of growing ‘OBE’ (soup) in the garden.

She encouraged all participant to use cans, containers, and used pet coke bottles to plant even when there is no space to grow things. She concluded by saying that, gardening gives healthy produce that helps human to live long.

Mrs Oluwatoye encouraged cancer and diabetic patients to own and tend a garden because it will expose such persons to morning sun which contains vitamin D. She, however, said “gardening with family brings unity and bonding, it teaches children to be kind-hearted and balanced by tendering to every plant,” she said.
