Your position is divinely orchestrated by God -Run VC Tells Staff

The vice chancellor of the Redeemer's University, Prof. Shadrach Akindele, has called on the staff of the university to see themselves as being divinely positioned in the citadel of learning in order to build lives.

Prof. Akindele made this known during the maiden edition of the covenant service held at the university auditorium on Wednesday.

Speaking during the service, which marked a new beginning, the vice chancellor urged members of staff to see themselves as divinely positioned in the university in order to shape the lives of the students. He noted that the staff of the university must understand that they are stewards and that God is expecting them to take care of the lives committed to their hands.

He also appreciated God for preserving members of the university community for the opportunity to see the new year.

In his welcome address to the members of the university community, the chaplain of the Redeemer's University, Pastor Alakija, urged the members of staff and the university community to separate themselves from old things in order for them to take possession of what God has in stock for them in 2024.

According to him, God spoke to Abraham, telling him to look as far as he could and that God would give him all the land as far as he could see. He encouraged the staff to be focused in the new year, saying that God will do a new thing.

Also speaking at the service, the guest minister, who is the General Overseer of Christ Proclaimers Global Mission Ibadan, Reverend Sunday Awe, called on members of the Redeemer's University community not to be afraid but to rejoice and be glad because God will do a new thing.

In his sermon, he noted that when God wants to do anything, he will first announce such a thing before doing it (Amos 3:7).
According to him, if God will do a new thing, there must also be a paradigm shift on the part of his people.
He called on the entire staff to rededicate themselves to nurturing the students, saying that they have been called not just as staff but as stewards who will account for their students.

Highlights of the service include prayers for the students and staff of the university community.
