Oyo Kingmakers Who Collected Bribe May Be Prosecuted -Makinde

  Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has threatened to prosecute and punish all Chiefs or Kingmakers within the Oyomesi or others, who might have collected bribe or gratification in the selection process that culminated into the emergence Akeem Abimbola Owoade as the 46th Alaafin of Oyo. This followed reports that cash was allegedly offered to some chiefs by a contender for the Alaafin stool. Makinde issued the warning on Monday during the official presentation of the Staff of Office and Certificate of Appointment to Oba Owoade.  Owoade succeeded late Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, whose reign lasted for five decades. UNILAG Management Reviews School, Hostel Fees

 


The management of the University of Lagos has reviewed the tuition fee and hostel fees of the students of the institution.

The student leaders requested a reversal of the hike in school fees and charges as well as the reinstatement of the student union in the university.

The university management, on Friday, agreed to a downward review of the charges.

The decision comes after a meeting between the management and leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) as well as university faculty presidents.

The student leaders requested a reversal of the hike in school fees and accommodation charges as well as the reinstatement of the student union in the university.

While it agrees to an immediate reduction in school and accommodation fees, the university authorities promised to begin work on the return of students union in the school.
