The governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredoku, returned to the country yesterday.

Governor Akeredolu, who has been on medical vacation in Germany for weeks, landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja at about 3:20 pm through a private jet with United Aviation flight number N728LB.

Following rumours of his deteriorating health, pictures and videos of the governor have been circulated on social media to dispel rumours of his death.

While recuperating, he had written to the state House of Assembly to seek an extension of his medical leave.

His deputy, Lucky Ayedatiwa, has been acting in his stead for over three months.
