Oyo Kingmakers Who Collected Bribe May Be Prosecuted -Makinde

  Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has threatened to prosecute and punish all Chiefs or Kingmakers within the Oyomesi or others, who might have collected bribe or gratification in the selection process that culminated into the emergence Akeem Abimbola Owoade as the 46th Alaafin of Oyo. This followed reports that cash was allegedly offered to some chiefs by a contender for the Alaafin stool. Makinde issued the warning on Monday during the official presentation of the Staff of Office and Certificate of Appointment to Oba Owoade.  Owoade succeeded late Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, whose reign lasted for five decades. 40-YEAR-OLD MAN ARRESTED IN OSUN FOR THEFT, BURGLARY

 


The operatives of the Osun Amotekun Corps have arrested a 40-year-old man, Rufai Wasiu, for burglary and phone theft.

The Corps Commander, Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi, made this known in Osogbo on Thursday while speaking with journalists. According to him, the suspect who specialises in house burgling and stealing, was arrested after a complaint was lodged.

“The suspect was arrested in Osogbo after burgling a house and stealing phones by the operatives after a complaint was lodged at our Osogbo command about his atrocities.

“The suspect confessed to committing the act and had been jailed for the same act in the past.

“The suspect has been handed over to the police for subsequent interrogation and prosecution,” Adewinmbi said.
